Universal Shift

“Don’t fight forces; use them.” - Buckminster Fuller

As I write this morning’s letter, these words from Buckminster Fuller ring true.

I think it’s fair to say that each of us at one time or another have found ourselves moving in one direction, and then we are forced to shift because the powers of the universe had other plans? For sure that has been the cause and effect of these Covid times.

Committing and completing a goal that is worth pursuing is something I hope you have been contemplating with the grow goal you choose for April.

Where we can get stuck at times is when things don’t go our way and we freeze. Unable to make the needed shift, change perspective and deal with the life events that are beyond our control.

My grow goal was to take time off to smell the roses to unplug and have fun. Something that sounds easy in theory but can be challenging especially during these Covid times.

My time with my friends that I shared in last week’s letter was so very great! Filled with so much love and laughter it made my heart sing. The final leg of my journey got totally rerouted because of a Covid situation and I did what I could do to make the best of it.

Disappointed at first not to be able to go to my intended destination, I focused on what I could do versus what I couldn’t do.

An extra bonus, beyond spending more time with my friends and their extended family was giving myself a few more days to re-enter before getting fully back in the driver’s seat in my business.

To be able to use the next few days for some strategic planning moving into the month of May which happens on Saturday.

Trust is really the most important element when looking at a universal shift. Trusting yourself as you refocus and let your imagination take you in a new direction. This week’s podcast from the archives, Daring to Imagine, is a great reminder of how our imagination always plays an important role.

My hope is that you are finding yourself close to achieving your grow goal even if it looks very different than you originally had thought.

Here is a poem from my book The Victory Letter, Inspiration for the Human Race to cheer you on.

The Finish Line

You hardly can believe it…could it be true?

Is that the finish line ribbon stretching in from of you?

Nothing else really matters, the world fades away,

This is the moment you’ve been waiting for – this is your day!

The other runners now don’t matter as your goal is clear in sight,

You will break the ribbon as you dreamed…you are full of power and might.

Then indeed it happens, you feel the ribbon in your hand.

You’ve overcome all your struggles, and everything is clear where you now stand.

For while the thrill of winning is sweet as it can be,

The race and how you ran it was your true victory.

Hold this moment clearly and remember that is not the end,

The fact of the matter is really this…this is where you begin.

Finish this month with a smile on your face and your grow goal in your heart.
