Wherever you are going… you are most certainly on your way.
Believe it or not it’s already the third week of focusing on our April Grow Goal.
It is important to remember this week that the growth comes not just from reaching a goal but from the steps and subsequent experiences that happen along the way to get to the goal.
Sometimes, unfortunately the steps to getting there can deter us from the goal itself because it can become unpleasant or scary along the way. That is when we have to decide whether we want the goal enough to take the necessary steps - even when they could potentially be not so pleasant.
Think about all the steps to get to your goal. Write them down. Determine which ones you need help pushing through to get to the other side. Think about who could help you with the steps that may have thrown you off the path towards reaching your goals in the past.
Then tap into your imagination and see the goal as a reality in your life. The good elements of the goal and how it will take you towards a fuller, richer and happier life.
In today’s podcast from the archives, I am sharing an idea and a story. This particular podcast seemed appropriate because it shares with you a story of how my imagination and my childhood friends got me through a very rough patch in my childhood. The end result is that I was fortunate enough to end up with childhood friends who have become forever friends.
The picture above is the five of us a few years back at one of our semi-regular get togethers that happened in Boulder. I hope you take the 17 minutes out to listen to the podcast to allow you to think about a new perspective around how your life has shaped the person you are today.
This morning as I write today’s Victory Letter, I am in the Outer Banks of North Carolina celebrating this friendship with these dear friends. We had planned to come here last year before Covid hit. Now vaccinated, we are together again, picking up where we left off and it feels so good, and so right!
Next week we will talk about the importance of celebration with every goal achievement.
