True To You
To Thine Own Self Be True - Shakespeare
Happy Monday!
Well July is about to expire as we turn our sights to my favorite month of the year August, starting tomorrow.
These words today from Shakespeare once uttered in the play Hamlet came into my head a week ago while I was on retreat and have stuck with me since. Funny the things that the mind thinks when you unplug and just be. I did a little video of my adventures which you can watch over on You Tube.
My thoughts to share again with you this morning is the idea before summer is gone to find time for yourself by yourself. Just you, and you, alone. No distractions, no social media, no email, just convene with nature in this "you time." Why? Because you deserve to tap into you.
There is just something so amazing about being in nature that does the soul good. Perhaps I think more than anything we do, which is why I love gardening as much as I do. It allows me to be true to myself and the aspects of nature from the plants to the birds, to all those crazy insects that crawl around in the garden that make the cycle complete.
I just learned yesterday that I have been accepted to be one of the presenters for Ignite Denver on August 16th. My talk is going to encompass how we can turn "yard work" into "gardening." I am excited and terrified at the same time! The idea is that you have 5 minutes to share 20 slides that are automatically changing out for you every 15 seconds so you can ignite people about your idea.
Amazingly I think I manifested this while on retreat! One of my heartfelt goals at this point in my life is to see more people enjoy the many benefits of gardening in body, mind and soul. And to have the earth feel the positive effects of more people doing sustainable gardening.
What are you ready to manifest in the month of August? Let’s go do it!
