Dig Deeper

Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it. – Tori Amos

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday {First Name}!

I don’t know about you but lately I have been digging around to find more courage to make changes in my life. And as I shared in last week’s letter, I have decided to start doing something about that by speaking at an event called Ignite Denver on August 16th.

And why? Because I want to start talking out loud more about my passion for gardening. Why? Because of all the things I do, I am not only most passionate about gardening, but I believe if more people gardened (versus just doing yard work) the world would be a better place. The world should be more than just lawns when there are so many amazing other plants that actually give back to the earth and all it's little creatures.

Why would it be a better place? Because there is something that happens when you connect with the earth, yes digging deep, that opens you up to the possibilities of what growing even a single plant can bring.

Let’s face it without the earth, we don’t have much in fact, we can't exist. In going through all my garden pictures for the slide show for my presentation (I have to do 20 slides in 5 minutes) I came across this picture I had took recently while on a trip that I believe sums up another way to look at how we view the earth and it says; It is not the land that is broken…but our relationship to it.

This act of stepping out to talk about something like I have for the past 20 years that isn’t about entrepreneurship, marketing, leadership or a business related matter in any way is scary. But in fact, a good scary. That is where I am having to find myself digging deep to find courage to do so because it’s so new and different. Even though I have over 40 years of experience now in getting dirt under my nails.

There will be about 12 other speakers speaking at Ignite Denver for 5 minutes each, talking about something that sparks them. And if you are here in the Denver area I would love to have you to join us. It will be, funny as it is, at the Bug Theater in Downtown Denver.

Here is a link for a discount for tickets.

And finally, this morning I want to share with you a link to this week’s video. Another avenue I am venturing down now of creating a video a week. Based on this idea of growing from whatever vantage point crosses my path during the week gone by. This week I share my full moon moonset experience with some really beautiful shots from my vantage point overlooking the Boulder Valley.

Wishing you a great week ahead and hope you find something that makes you want to dig deeper within yourself to bring it to life. What are you most passionate about that you would like to either simply do more of or to share it with the world?
