That One Idea

31 years ago, today, I had one of my greatest hopes and dreams come true. I became a mother. A role in life that I didn’t know if it was going to happen for me or not … and then it did! Like so many hopes and dreams in our life.
Happy Birthday to my first born, my son, Travis. Trav, thanks so much for letting me be your mom for these many years! While this past year brought changes in your life that were unexpected including coming back to Colorado for a bit to prepare for the next stage of your journey, it continues to be my honor to be your mom.
Over the course of this past year, we have all had to change course. For some of you it was a little and for some it was extremely dramatic. It can be scary taking that step in a new direction especially as the world around you seems to be coming apart at the seams.
What has been most amazing in this year is those people I have watched who have taken ahold of a long-term idea of a business dream and made it come true. Whether it was an online business or a bricks and mortar business. In addition, are those small business owners who would not allow their existing business to die.
In this week’s podcast I talk with Jon Shimer one of the founders of the Fatty Vegan a brand-new vegan restaurant concept that opened its door on January 20, 2021 in Ventura, California. With opening day producing lines around the block, Jon and his wife Candice watched the idea that wouldn’t go away come to glorious life. Dreams are indeed still coming true.
What is that idea that you have that won’t go away. The idea that you might be saying to yourself, “only if I could bring this one idea to life.” One of the cool things about ideas is that when you start to talk about them out loud, yes, bring them into the light of day, anything is possible.
