Growing Anticipation
“A challenge for me has been humbling myself, remembering that I don’t know everything and that there is so much to be learned from everyone on the team.” – Madison Moorhead
And Happy Spring! Yes! While it doesn’t look like it, looking out of my window this morning here in Colorado, over the weekend the season of Spring slipped in the door. Bringing with it the hope of the warmer days to come. Along with those warmer days is the anticipation of nature waking up and the beauty of spring each day sharing new delights.
I recently started the Victory Garden Club to celebrate everything gardening. What I am discovering in the process of doing so is that it has opened my awareness and deep desire to learn from others about everything the earth has to give us. As we learn from each other, we grow.
Growing whether it is in a garden, a business, or within our own self requires that we are always learning.
In this week’s podcast, part 2 in a 3-part series about business startups, I interviewed Madison Moorhead the founder of Apocalypse, a buy-sell-trade clothing shop that opened in early February here in Boulder.
Madison shares some inspiring insights about in how she has maneuvered the opening of her shop during this pandemic. How she is learning to serve not just her entrepreneurial and designer dreams but serving the community and her team as well.
Along with the anticipation of spring comes the anticipation of life beyond the pandemic, which appears to have us getting closer to the home stretch. Currently I have gotten my first vaccine with my second one happening in a couple of weeks. The thought of life beginning to happen again in ways that allow us to freely and safely move beyond the confines of our homes is so amazing!
With that particular anticipation comes a gratitude for so many of us around the things we have in our lives that we had come to take for granted. Being around our friends and family at the top of the list. I have started to watch some reunions of people with family members they had not been able to see in a year or longer and it really is so heart-warming.
Growing our relationships is another element of the anticipation for what is ahead. And I don’t know about you, but I love the thought of life beyond just Zoom. Though Zoom has proven to be a way to connect that is incredibly time saving. A nice balance in the future sounds great!
