Research has shown us that tactile doing, touching with your hands, connects to your brain and allows creativity to happen. – Wendy Conklin

Happy Monday!

As a brief snowstorm melted late last week, I noticed something different, the grasses underneath were beginning to actually turn green as the magic of spring begins its annual display.

And today my friend as the calendar proclaims, it is the first day of SPRING! Yes!

There is such a magic in the air this time of year as the outside world here in the Northern Hemisphere begins to come to life again. With it comes my imagination waking up in new ways to share my love for the earth and getting my hands in the dirt once again.

The beginning of Spring just seems like an open invitation to go out and have some creative play! With that, I would love to share with you this week’s podcast with a very special creative guest I have recently had the pleasure of meeting.

Wendy Conklin is the founder and creator of Chair Whimsy. Yes, Wendy took a love for something as simple and complex as a chair and looked at ways to take old worn out chairs and make them beautiful works of art!

And… even better she shares how she fine-tuned the way to make a great living doing the work she loves.

Our conversation covered so much territory which included not only today’s main quote on using your hands to ensue creativity, but this following gem and so many more:

“Looking back, I'm really glad I bet on myself. That was the best thing I could have done. And I just think that more people should just bet on themselves. It gets me up in the morning.”

So, take a listen, get inspired and dust off your winter blues {First Name}, because spring has sprung!

Let’s go out and dance in it! And in case there is still snow on the ground where you are…know that it won’t be there for hopefully too much longer.

Here’s to an awesome Spring season ahead!
