The best way out is through. – Robert Frost

Happy Monday!

When I started writing this letter all those years ago my number one purpose was to remember the small victories as well as large victories in life. Which of course my friend sometimes is easier than others.

Last week I shared about this “little” cold I had which turned into an illness like none I have had before. It required that I let completely go of everything and just take care of myself over this past week as well.

And now as I look at the fact that 12 days have come and gone in the blink of an eye as I am beginning to feel like myself again. Leaving me, as each of us must to do from time to time, to recalculate how I proceed forward.

When I was a little girl and my mom worked full time and it was always a big deal when myself or my two sisters got sick. My mom would have to find someone to take care of us because she could not afford to take time off of work. So many days we went to school sick because we did not want to burden her.

Then as I became a mom myself, as an entrepreneur, with a husband traveling all the time for work, I simply had to shuffle my workload to accommodate my kids so that I was there for them. Of course, it never failed that as soon as they were better, I would catch whatever they had and have to push through to get it all done.

I thought about that a lot this week as my husband was away on a skiing trip and I was here to take care of myself. And that is the victory of this week’s letter – pushing through and recalculating where to pick up the pieces of everything that falls around you when you simply have to succumb to the human function of getting sick.

Collectively, we all felt this 3 years ago around this time when Covid changed our lives in such a dramatic way. Making us change our mindset about every plan we had, push through what was in front of us, and recalculate what tomorrow would bring.

While it was a major hardship for many and sadly so many lost their lives, we made it through. We got out of an incredibly awful situation. And in many cases were able to create new ways of thinking and living our lives. Heck I even pulled off helping my daughter have the most beautiful of weddings in the middle of 2020 with no one getting sick in the midst of the festivities.

As we head into the week ahead, I will continue to push through and recalculate what is left of this month as we spring forward, knowing the beautiful fact that spring is only one short week away!

Remember when life gives you lemons the only way to make the lemonade is to…

1.    Change Your Mindset.

2.    Push through.

3.    Recalculate what is ahead.

Let do It!
