Positive Vibes
Does this sound familiar? You are all excited about a new idea or plan for your business. In your minds eye, it is brilliant! Then in your zealous excitement you share it with someone close at hand - perhaps your spouse, or maybe your best friend.
Of course you are expecting them to look at you in total awe of your brilliance... yet they turn to you with a troubled brow and tell you all the reasons it will not work.
I can tell you in my over 30 years as an entrepreneur this scenario has happened more than just once or twice :)
A great example is my corporate and technically minded husband, who has been on this journey with me for most of these 30 years. It is hard for his very tactical mindset to understand the imaginative, intuitive and sometimes way outside the box ideas that I can come up with for my business.
He can tend to instantly look at the bottom line - the nuts and the bolts - and quite frankly that look in my eye and excitement in my voice scares the heck out of him! I can't say that I blame him, as there can sometimes be gems of truth to what he is saying.
However, to allow things to percolate positively sometimes I have to wait to hear his vantage point and get my further insights from others who understand my entrepreneurial ways.
For Ed and I, balance of our opposite viewpoints is important, waiting for the time when it's more opportune for my positive vibes, and his blood pressure. Through it all we really have helped each other to see things in the perspective that has kept our marriage more balanced through the years.
All ideas need some good percolating with a variety of positive vibes and some doses of reality. It's important to not introduce the reality check too soon or the dream may never become reality.
This core ingredient is why the Victory Circles has been in existence for almost 10 years now (we get to celebrate that important milestone in early 2016).
I can still remember the initial spark of wanting to create my own Master Mind programs and support groups for other like-minded entrepreneurs. By allowing the idea to build momentum and positivity, I was able to make a sustainable business out an idea that had been chomping at my heart and soul.
Let me ask you these questions as you start to reflect on this year and plan for 2016:
Who can you turn to share your ideas that simply need that percolating encouragement?
What was your last great idea?
Where do you get your best inspiration?
When do you put time on your calendar to think through ideas so they can actually come to life?
How do you allow new ideas to come to life in your business and then actually get fully implemented?
Or perhaps to use the analogy of today's quote from the man who wrote the book on finding your strengths, Marcus Buckingham, are you simply "juggling" a lot of ideas around, or are you actually "catching" and implementing them?
You can make your dreams a reality with the right positive vibes, but you can't do it alone. The power of the Master Mind and a support group is going to be key. Master Mind members give and receive positive vibes when someone shares the excitement of a new idea. This is where business growth happens.
If this sounds interesting to you, along with the idea of getting your positive vibes fully engaged for 2016 along with me and 7 other like-minded entrepreneurs, learn more about our Business Immersion Program. Submit your application today. Registration closes in the weeks ahead for 2016 until January of 2017.
I hope you enjoy today's pic of the week with my daughter Bailey - positioned just right - during a recent moon rising to allow her "catch" the moon :)
