Keep on Rolling

only that which changes us is true to us

With the Winter Solstice happening today, the season of winter has officially arrived - bringing with it change and enlightenment of our spirit. As we roll into this week of celebration, it’s time to hurry up before we slow way, way down. So it goes year in and year out in this story of our lives.

I stared at the picture that came together for this weeks Victory Pic of the week and found myself just absorbing the words and the simplicity of the image for a long time before allowing myself to put these thoughts down into writing.

Keep in mind the thoughts of giving and spirit that this week represents. The time for us to pull back and really reflect on what matters most. In a world that sometimes is quick to point fingers and shed blame, it’s time to just embrace the moment and pray for peace among all people of this planet.

The spirit of the season can give us the strength to enter this new period of time and embrace a new year that is ahead in just 12 short days. The key is to enjoy the moment, while being ready to embrace the changes that will make us truly blossom towards our full potential as we continue moving forward.

What are your wishes for the season and the year ahead?

What will allow you to change and grow?

Funny as it is, the words to the REO Speed Wagon’s song “Roll with the Changes” popped into my head while writing this and they bring to mind our ability to keep on rolling with what ever life brings us…

“So if you're tired of the same old story,
Oh, turn some pages
I will be here when you are ready
To roll with the changes, yeah, yeah

I knew it had to happen, felt the tables turnin'
Got me through my darkest hour
I heard the thunder clappin', felt the desert burnin'
Until you poured on me like a sweet sunshower”

And with that, it brings me to my wish for you this holiday season.

My wish for you is to rest and be merry as you prepare yourself to turn some pages in your story. Find your reasons and purpose to be all you were meant to be.

I will head off into the holidays with this thought from Picasso, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose is to give it away.”

Happy Winter Solstice and have yourself a merry little Christmas!
