Open Invitation

People like their own space. And people for the most part, like to be together.

This is where the art of an open invitation comes into play. Each of us has the right to say yes to the right invitation and no to the invitation that leaves us feeling flat.

Now I am not talking about a party invitation - though the same theory can hold true - I am talking about inviting someone in to engage, collaborate and build a business relationship with you.

In this world it can seem uncomfortable, if not downright painful at times to find the right way to invite people to do business with you. This is why it’s imperative to find the time and space to create ongoing invitations that feel not only good to you, but to those you are extending the invitation towards.

The art of this open invite has many Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners scratching their heads way too often. Has them looking at the uncertainty of not knowing what to do next in order to have someone want to eventually buy their product or service.

In this week’s podcast I share more on the expo and the variety of ways people came towards my friend Erica and I as we passed through what seemed like 100's of businesses. What worked to engage us and what had us running for the exit.

I hear more times than not when my coaching hat is on that there is no time, energy, money, and for those who are really honest, desire, to be out there trying to invite people to engage.

This month as we look at the mastermind principle of Honoring Time, without a doubt I believe that creating and implementing the right invite for the right people makes all the difference in business success. It also saves you alot of time in the long run as well.

Here is an antidote to start looking at the way you invite a bit differently:

Intrigue people to discover what you and your business is about.

Never ever, ever seem bored or are only interested the money piece.

Vitality to make people laugh and create joyful relationships.

Instagram (as a verb) with people to creatively create connection.

Take the time to make the best invitations that are actually inviting.

Energy … of the most positive variety always wins the game.

Two companies stand out that got my business that day. One had chocolate and a cool name along with a potentially great product (still to be determined).  The other business made us laugh and made it so fun engaging with them that I ended up doubling the amount of money I spent with them - with no regrets. I carried away a lovely bunch of products and the memory of a fun transaction.

As you head into this week pay attention to the invitations you are putting out there and the ones you are accepting. They really can make all the difference.

Have a most awesome week ahead!
