Mission Impossible

When my kids were little, each morning as they would wake up they would come into my home office where I was usually working from the wee hours on and come sit on my lap.

I cherished those moments that I got to spend with them as we just held each other and let time stop for about 10 or 15 minutes.

Those moments I deeply cherished because I knew in my head and in my heart they would be fleeting. And, in what seemed like a blink of an eye my babies are now indeed grown and gone.

While they have grown into two wonderful human beings and no matter where on the earth they now are, they will always be in my heart and soul because of the moments that I cherished when I was raising them

As Travis and Bailey got older and bigger in size the sitting on the lap part of our days became a bit more painful for me, yet I continued to do it as long as they wanted to because I have never been one to turn such precious love away.

In just six short days my baby boy, my first child, Travis, turns 30 years old. Amazing! Happy Birthday to him and happy 30 years of being a mother to me!

As I look back over the time as a mom that I had to juggle the impossible of raising children and growing several businesses and the businesses of others, there is no doubt that I did make a lot of mistakes. Along with the mistakes were a lot of things I did right. Life is like that.

Parenting and bringing home the revenue as well, can seem like mission impossible when it comes to the time constraints involved in getting it all done. For those of you who are in the thick of it right now, you know just how demanding it can be.

Those of you who look at those days of parenting in your past know how you wish for those days again. Or, those of you who have other time demands such as taking care of aging parents (something I had to do as well) the demand on your time can seem so over the top.

Yet again, when those days are gone they are gone.

Time is like that and why we really need to honor our precious time each and every day for what the moments brings to us right now as opposed to wishing away the busyness that it brings.

What is the mission impossible use of your time that you face right now today?

How could you find a way to stop and smell the flowers more?

Something I tell my clients is that you will forget the balance of your bank account as years go by but you will not forget the love you felt in those precious moments with those that you love.

Again - Happy Birthday Travis I am so very, very proud of the man you have become! And you know you can come home and sit on my lap anytime! 🤓
