New Perspective
“Business as usual in unusual circumstances.” - Mike Michalowicz
As I sit here writing todays letter I am thinking of the times in my life that unplanned events have rocked me to my core and changed the course of my life.
There are personal times such as when my parents divorced when I was 10. My mom picked my sisters and I up from school and said we weren’t going to be living in our home anymore.
Then there are collective times when the turbulent events were being felt by everyone around me such as being awakened to the 1971 earthquake in LA, the shock of 9/11 and the 2013 Flood here in Boulder.
What have been the major events that have changed your life and how you look at the world? The events that made you stronger, tougher and required you to find your super powers from deep within you?
This is one of those times on steroids. And now we all have to dig deep within and find who we are right now at our core.
A time in our collective world to find the best of ourselves. A time to realize that if you have have your health and mental capacity you have so much. With this in mind, I have written a poem to share with you today that I hope brings you some hope and peace.
With this in mind I have written a poem to share with you today that I hope brings you some hope and peace.
I call it A New Perspective
In troubling times that leave you with fear
unsure of the outcome
losing what you hold dear
Not knowing what tomorrow will bring
wanting to cry
wondering when you will again sing
Feeling unsure of what steps to take
knowing full well
your well-being is at stake
In these moments the best thing to do
is counting your blessings
knowing perseverance will get you through
Remember that life has a way
of turning things around
by counting your blessings
new insights will be found
All things shall pass
and move you on your way
soon enough
you will once again
Run, Jump and Play
In these moments as well, I believe that we can look at the things we have been putting off getting done in our personal lives and in our business lives. A time to recognize the importance to either let go once and for all, or do them now.
Now that the world in a most unusual way has made us slow down and see the precious pieces of our lives, the talents we hold and again that super power within us is waiting for us to take action.
This week I am sharing a very special podcast (and video if you choose) with my friend, Business Expert and Author, Mike Michalowicz. Our conversation delves into Mike’s new book Fix This Next, and how we can apply the principles from the book to allow us to focus in on what we should be paying attention to during these turbulent times we are living through and beyond.
Feel your feelings... and then get on with it and do what you need to do. The worst thing we can do is to sit in fear and do nothing. We are all so much stronger than we know. Each of us has the responsibility to lift up the collective spirit of those around us and it starts with ourselves.
Come hang out with me on Instagram @victorygirl. I will be doing a variety of events this week on Instagram live. Would love to hang out with you there.
Pass this letter and podcast link along to someone who needs a pick me up. We can and must do this!!
