In Remembrance

There is a river that runs through our lives, an underground stream that carries our essential being. I have learned that once we enter that stream, life’s no longer lived in the ordinary sense. It becomes a journey, an adventure into unknown waters. My purpose is not to promote a path or a way, but to stir within you the excitement and uniqueness of your own evolutionary process. May you discover your own river, and may your life become a meaningful voyage.” -   Hal Stone

I can’t begin to tell you how much the words above touched me this past week. I read them as I also learned of the eternal passing of

Dr. Hal Stone. Hal was an amazing man who I had the honor of spending time with as I grew to know his work through his daughter J Tamar Stone.

Hal lived a full life sharing the body of work he created along with his wife Sidra called Voice Dialogue. This consciousness philosophy became his life’s mission in exploring and understandings the many selves the make up the human psyche.

So fittingly, Hal peacefully passed on his sleep at the age of 92. While today’s letter is in homage and remembrance of him, it acts as a reminder to all of us to live our fullest life. To live a life doing the work and play that we are passionate about.

Last Tuesday as I kicked off our first Wisdom Webinar Episode, I was really touched by how the idea of living your best life through your orchestrating your passions resonated with so many. I believe that if everyone could take the time required to find and pursue their passion the world would heal so many of its wounds.

Perhaps this is wishful thinking on my part, but I believe, and wish for all I meet, and will until I take my leave from the planet, that we each have the opportunity to live doing what we love and what we were put on the planet to do.

Now of course this does not mean all lollipops and fairy tales because doing what you were brought to this planet to do can be very hard work. People will challenge you and you will challenge yourself. Some days will be great, some not so great. This is where having that passion along with goals, a plan, and others to cheer you on make all the difference.

What do you want your remembrance to be? When you look back on your life what do you want to remember that you did or didn’t do?

There is a great writing exercise you can do in one of favorite forms of getting ideas out of your head in a free write (no expectations or hesitation as you write). The idea of this free write is to look at your life 10 years from now.

Imagine that you have arrived at this date ten years from now June/July 2030. What did these past 10 years look like for you in the aspects of your life? Where did you go? Who did you love? What did you create? How did you make a difference in the lives of the people that mean the most to you?

Give yourself 10 to 20 minutes and just write from the perspective and imagination space of what you want to see happen in your life. Our imaginations are powerful tools if we take the time to use them.

If you are reading this right now and afraid you will make a wrong choice, especially with all that is going on in the world right now, that has you paralyzed, keep this in mind. The only thing you can do wrong is to do nothing and live in fear that the change you seek will never be possible.

Sometimes it just requires that you change your perspective and get new insights. Look into the myriad of selves that lives inside of your consciousness and decide what parts you want to engage.

The reason I created the Wisdom Webinar series at this time is to help people do just that. If you have already registered, welcome and I am so looking forward to working with you on this journey.

Who will carry on your legacy? I have watched in deep respect over the years as Tamar Stone has taken the needed steps to embrace her father’s work into her own practice and make such a difference for even more lives along her way.

Peace of mind really does come from within. As Hal Stone shared in his beautiful words that brought you into this morning’s letter, peace of mind really does come from the inside out.

We are living through some pretty crazy times and we can wait until everything quiets down and see what is left for us, or we can mindfully orchestrate the life of our dreams right now, today. The choice is always yours.

What if there was no wrong door to walk through either physically or in your mind’s eye?

Wishing you the peace, joy and the freedom you seek in the week ahead.
