A Human Experiment

"Our challenges make us who we were supposed to be." – Amy Purdy

My professional path seems to have always put me in the direction of solving puzzles around human mindset. This past week I just kept thinking about how we are currently living in the middle of a collective human experiment.

Together, yet apart, we are navigating through an unchartered course that really is about life and death.

Our homes have become our laboratories for this experiment.

Above is a picture of my laboratory – my home. A place that brings me joy, fulfillment and searching for solutions.

How about yours? What are you discovering within the four walls of your laboratory?

Let’s explore this more. First comes the human part.

Happiness comes when you look for it.

Unity is available in all shapes and sizes.

Moving inward allows us to truly discover what is inside.

Awakening and anchoring brings the present of presence.

Nothing cannot be overcome as long as we are breathing.

What is interesting is how social distancing seems to be bringing us closer together. We now have more time to think about the people we love.

For those who aren’t our current “germ buddies” in quarantine, then we are sharing more conversation via phone, Facetime or Zoom. Zooming has actually become a verb that isn’t just for work anymore.

Interestingly the stuff I have spent my own lifetime acquiring in my home I am spending more time with, and deciding to either use it more or let it go.

The question becomes how to best spend our time during this experiment so that these months we are spending looking inward are not a waste of time. This time can in fact be some of the most important days of time that we have been given if looked at in the right perspective.

Examine everything procrastinate in getting done.

Xtra effort is required to dig deep within yourself.

Pause to do the needed research in the comfort of your lab.

Expand on ideas that you created in the past giving them presence.

Respond to the people in your life with good vibes.

Invite others to enjoy your experiment with you.

Mentor connections to give and receive.

Enjoy all that is to come your way as you open up.

Notice your patience levels in seeing this through.

Time for action in what you can do is now.

As today’s quote from Amy Purdy author of On My Own Two Feet shared recently on Instagram, our challenges do indeed make us who we were supposed to be. This is the experiment of our lives.

Here’s to a week of living this human experiment and I hope that you find joy in every nook and cranny of your home.
