Balance of Giving and Receiving

When I started my business, my greatest desire was that I wanted to treat from my heart. I wanted to treat people in a way that they weren’t receiving from our current health care system.” - Justine Caldwell

Well it’s happened… December has arrived and with it our to do lists have grown as long as Santa’s list up at the North Pole.

Here we are on the other side of Black Friday, Small Biz Saturday and Cyber Monday.

I must say though from the keyboard of my laptop and screen of my cell phone I was able to get a lot on my to do list done honoring each of these days – especially Small Business Saturday. How about you?

As the calendar begins to rock out the rest of the year I hope that some robust planning for 2020 makes its way onto your calendar?

When we can manage what makes it to our calendars there seems to be a much better balance between the giving and receiving we need to do each day. Especially when it comes to self-care during a period of time when the stress, germs, and all those things we didn’t expect to receive come our way.

Think of it as a form of yin and yang – the complimenting of opposite energies.

One thing I have been enjoying tremendously with all this snow we got here in Colorado is the ability to head out each day for an hour or so and get in some cross-country skiing. With some motivating music in my ears I head out making tracks on our property.

This freeing exercise has been the yin to my yang. It allows me to enjoy the beauty of the snow and play with my pooch as I enjoy the ability to just play right outside my back door. What is keeping you energized?

In this week’s podcast I share a conversation with entrepreneur and founder of the Healing Spot, Justine Calderwood. Justine and I take a look at the giving and receiving that is required with owning a small business.

Owning a small business has many ups and downs, twists and turns and Justine shares hers in growing the Healing Spot from a desire to a thriving business. A business that has dramatically changed the lives of the people she serves.

Today as we honor what has been come to be known as Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement, remember to find and honor your give/receive balance in order to be able to give even more.

Happy December!
