Fall for Abundance
When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you. - Lao Tzu
Abundance comes in all shapes and sizes. We can recognize it if we stop long enough to appreciate the haves versus the have nots. Yes, especially in these difficult times.
Ed and I decided to take off for a few days to a cabin by a lake in southern Colorado week before last. We had never been to this lake before and made our plans keeping Covid precautions in mind.
I prepared for our journey so that we could be completely self-contained. Being that we are vegetarian we normally have to travel knowing that there may not be food options along our way. With Covid, this only intensifies. The result with bringing our own food is that we eat so much better and the food is ready for us when we are ready to eat. Abundance win!
The 6-hour drive to the lake was beautiful with the changing Colorado gold we saw over the many mountain passes we traveled on. Now some people ask how can you drive in a car that long? We actually had a conversation about this as we traveled. We talked about how traveling by car allows you to see places in between that you would not have ever seen from your starting point to your destination such as when you travel by airplane. Abundance win!
We arrived at the “cabin” we had only seen in pictures from Airbnb. At first, we thought oh boy what have we gotten ourselves into. And then we stepped out onto the back deck/porch and said “Wow!” The view of the lake and mountain on the other side won our heart over. Abundance win!
Then we realized there was no wi-fi! What?! How would we survive 3 days with no wifi? Yes, the universe had just asked us to unplug completely. So, we did with a little ability to talk to our kids via phone and send a few messages out. But for the most part we had to check out. Abundance Win!
So, for three days we walked along the lake, ate yummy food, and enjoyed our pooch who was in major abundance joy frolicking along the lake. I even slept in one morning until 9:30! Abundance Win!
There is so much to be grateful for if we just take the time to acknowledge our gifts, most especially the small ones.
In last week’s letter I brought up the idea of how important our creativity is to keep us sane and in the flow for last quarter of the year. Appreciating the abundance our creative spirit can bring into our lives is vital for every single one of us. Yes, even you!
What unfolded in the past week was a creativity challenge that has come to life using Julia Cameron’s book The Artists Way as our guide.
I talk about this more in this week's podcast, Creative Ambition.
You can also learn more from a quick video I did over at my account on Instagram.Would love to have you play along. Excited to see what unfolds.
Fall into your abundance this week – especially as you create what is near and dear to your creative heart.
