Chilling Out

"Let go of control and chill out…Let it be, trust.” - Esther Hicks

Yes, I keep getting reminded that there comes a time and place when we all just need to chill the heck out.

As we head full on into our day and week ahead, I want to first thank everyone who reached out to me from last weeks, Victory Letter. Your sweet words of love, support and even ideas around what I experienced in my body were so welcome and needed. Thank you, thank you.

Stress is a very tricky emotion that can find its way into our bodies … even when we don’t really think we have that much to be stressed about. So, in the week ahead I am doing an at home online retreat I signed up for that I am doing around my work commitments.

This means insuring more than ever I am putting really good nutrients in my body in both food and water. Cutting down on wine intake as I also make a focused effort to shut off the news. Step one was deleting the news apps from my phone. It has become such a bad habit for me that I need to stop.

I am going to focus instead on my creativity as we head into week 7 of the Artists Way Challenge – Recovering a Sense of Connection – which sounds perfect right now.

With that I wanted to share with you one of the tasks I did from the Artists Way challenge. A few weeks ago it was requested you to write your own artists prayer. I found it very cathartic and have been saying it on a regular basis as a way to remind myself to create every day. I hope you find solace in it as well. Creating after all is a great way to chill!

An Artists Prayer

Dear great spirit please allow me to hold my creativity close to my soul,

To gather the strength to control what I can control.

To allow me to find the courage to create when fear comes my way,

To open my heart and create every day.

When the ups and downs of life start to fill my head with thoughts of doubt,

Let me remember it’s my creativity trying to get out.

May love always surround me, when I create,

Never let me get caught up in jealousy or hate.

Love of course must start in my own heart,

Loving myself first is where I will start.

With my heart wide open and my eyes as well,

May good thoughts of creative comfort be in the home I dwell.

Keep me close to your energy and might,

Doing what I know in my heart, body and spirit is right.

Have me be clear on who blocks my way,

And help me to move towards positive energy when I stray.

Deep breaths in the morning,

Deep sleep at night,

Thank you, kind and creative spirit,

For holding me tight.

Your love is what soothes me,

And helps me to see,

That everything I need is right inside of me.

With these words I wish you peace and a whole lot of chilling out in the week ahead! Stay safe out there both mentally and physically!

To Your Success and Victories,

Cheri
