The first step to receiving the answer is being brave enough to ask the question. – Kaitlyn Bouchillon

Today I thought it would be important to talk with you about the importance of asking meaningful questions. The significance of having dialogues that matter. Dialogue that leads to conversations that makes a difference. A difference in your life and in the life of others.

As I shared in last week’s letter, we are all witnessing first-hand over and over it seems exactly what happens when life doesn’t go as planned. And when it doesn’t go as we thought it might there is an important to stop and ask questions.

And then, even more important is to listen to the answers. Both from our own internal dialogue and in asking others.

Questions allow us to stop and take a break so that we can take the best steps forward. Even if we don’t agree with the answer to our question at times.

And it does take courage to ask questions especially when we have become divided in our beliefs and opinions about elements in life that matter the most.

The song From a Distance came into my head out of the blue this past week and as I played it to understand why, it became clear. Here are a few of the words...

From a distance

The world looks blue and green

And the snowcapped mountains white

From a distance

The ocean meets the stream

And the eagle takes to flight

From a distance

There is harmony

And it echoes through the land

It's the voice of hope

It's the voice of peace

It's the voice of every (wo)man

If you would like to dig more into the song, I found a great recording on You Tube with the song sung by the original songwriter Julie Gold.

As I thought more about the importance of questions, I once again realized the foundation of my training in my coach certifications along the way have all been based in the power to ask the right questions.

So I dusted off my initial Coach training manuals from over 20 years ago and it was fascinating that so many of the questions on over 100 topics from Adding Value to Love still hold relevant today. I share 11 of these topics that include effectiveness, excellence and influence, today in today’s podcast Answers to the Questions. In today’s podcast above I dig in deeper and start gathering up the questions you want to discover the answers to this week.

As you head into your week be sure to bring along with you the questions that will make a difference. And remember to be sure to listen for the answers! Until next week...
