To Bloom
Struggle is a never-ending process. Freedom is never really won; you earn it and win it in every generation. - Coretta Scott King
Today marks the official commemoration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I thought for a change of pace we could look together towards the woman behind Dr. King.
Coretta Scott King who was not only the pillar who stood beside her husband and his work towards freedom and equality, but also the person who insured his work lived on.
From 1968 when Dr. King was assassinated until her death nearly 38 years later in 2006, she fought for the issues that mattered to Dr. King, herself and their millions of followers around the globe.
In addition, she also was a mighty and courageous advocate working towards world peace, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and economic justice.
She was awarded the Gandhi Peace Prize among many other acknowledgements in her lifetime. In other words, she became the bloom that made so many other’s lives bloom along her path.
Sometimes we can only see the bloom of a flower without realizing all the working parts that have allowed for the radiance of each and every bloom.
A special thank you to her today for her courage, tenacity and love.
In order to find our own special blooms, we need plant seeds along the way. Both figuratively and if you are open to it in real terms of putting seeds into dirt.
Today’s video that I finally got done over a bumpy week of illness is now up. It contains the possibility to see if you want to try your hand at planting seeds indoors during the winter months.
I will leave you this morning with this question. Where do you find peace of mind so that you can bloom?
A time in our history is going to start being laid out today that will require so much more extra strength to bloom. And at our core we need to find the activities, places and spaces where we can find the key elements to carry us through.
Wishing you the freedoms in finding that peace to bloom over and over again.
Onward we grow,
