Celebrating Dreams

As January quickly slips away this week, taking us into February, how is your year going so far?

Last week I decided to take a bit of a break from social media and the outside world as much as possible so that I could focus on my inner world. In the process Ed and I, truthfully mostly Ed, though I was the idea generator ;), renovated one of our bathrooms.

With winter finally arriving along bringing plenty of snow and subzero temperatures, it’s the right time of year to take a strong long look at indoor projects and moving the energy around in your home.

This includes taking care of any plants that may be in dire need of your loving care. Which I share more about in this week’s video, along with the bathroom redo.

This is the fun part. This is where you get to be the change, and it starts with you right in your own kitchen. You’re now in the game for personal longevity, for going against the norm, and for better options for all.      - Chef Bai aka Bailey Ruskus

The main topic I want to share with you in this morning’s letter is my daughter Bailey. In the upcoming weeks she will be launching her second cookbook, Breaking Up With Dairy. And my friend it is going to be a really big deal. This labor of love that both she and her husband Steve have put their heart and soul into creating is being launched on February 11th.

Both Bailey and Steve are passionate Vegan advocates and amazing Chefs. Proving that you can eat delicious and nutritious foods while honoring the lives of animals. You can learn more about the book, Breaking Up with Dairy, and their work here.

What truly makes me proudest as Bailey’s mom is how she took her dreams of becoming a chef and changing the world one recipe at a time.

When she left home at the age of 18 just two months after graduating from high school, she went with courage and might to Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in San Francisco.

She entered into a primarily male dominated world, with many ups and downs along her path. However, she knew that she wanted to change people’s lives with her love for food.

Then, because of a medical condition called Endometriosis, 7 years ago her new partner in life, Steve, helped her to make the life altering decision to become Vegan.

For many reasons they knew this dietary change most especially eliminating dairy would greatly aid Bailey's health. What many people don’t know is this chronic disease effects 1 out of 10 women. Steve championed this change for Bailey, and it changed both of their lives.

Now in just a few weeks this second cook book they have created in both beautiful photography, amazing writing, and 100 brand new recipes will be released into the world. And on her official launch date Bailey will be on Good Morning America for the third hour of the show! Exciting indeed!

We will be celebrating her dream coming true throughout the month of February (and most likely the rest of the year!). 🤓

She will be hosting a launch party in San Diego on February 15th and will have a book signing here in Boulder at the Peppercorn on February 21st. You can learn more about the details of her book tour here and even preorder the book.

Also reach out to me if you want more info about these upcoming events.

As a parent my goal has always been to help my children reach for the stars. To see it happen and watch Bailey’s dream come true in such a beautiful way fills my heart completely.

With crazy stuff going on in the world it’s so nice to have something so awesome to celebrate!

Here’s to a great week ahead!

Onward we grow,

Cheri
