Time Tapping
The biggest loss of not living in the moment, is this moment. – Cheri Ruskus
Life comes at us from all directions. Some days glorious – some days not so much, but it is all part of the big, beautiful package of our lives. Over the course of the last 28 days, I have made the effort to write every morning. A few mornings it was a struggle to write much, but most morning it was a complete joy.
The key is now to continue this practice until my next book is written. There are words that are written in this 28-day document that matter and more words to be written that will matter as well.
Writing has become one of my dearest friends that taps into the heart of me. My writer self gets me. Honors me and takes the time to dig deep within me – as long as I allow her to come to life through my fingers. Creativity at its finest. The distractions can wait when her and I hang out together.
As February has come to a close and March sits looming before us it seems like a wonderful time to celebrate. Celebrate the coming of spring in just 19 more days and signs of life beyond this pandemic becoming brighter with each passing day.
15 years ago, this very month, I started the Victory Circles to give women entrepreneurs the space and place to talk in an open forum about the things in their lives that mattered. To celebrate wins, to cry over loses, and to listen as well as to be heard.
I also wanted to create an annual curriculum for them and the readers of the Victory Letter to further expand the possibilities that we each have available to us. The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill became my guide as I chose 11 of his principles and added in one of my own, Honoring Time.
Honoring Time is the principle for March. I even ended up writing my own book about these experiences, Victory One Moment at a Time that was published in 2011. My how time does indeed fly.
Every year as I have tapped into this principle I have continued to learn and grow while sharing tips, resources and overall thoughts on how we can all better utilize the single most important gift we all have been given, the commodity of time. Yes, we each have the same exact amount of time in every single day.
While none of us know how long we will be given this gift of our lives, by honoring the time we do have presently, and ahead of us, we are respecting this ultimate gift.
One definition of the word “tap” is to release liquid from a vessel, so that when we are tapping into our time, we can look at what is being released from ourselves:
T – Take time out for yourself on a regular basis.
A – Align your attitude towards positivity.
P – Perfection isn’t possible, doable is possible.
P – Practice a daily morning ritual that serves you so you can serve.
I – Imagine how you can use your creativity every single day.
N – Nudge yourself to allow change to happen. Don’t get stuck in a rut.
G – Gain insights through reading, writing and having fun.
I dig into this topic of time more in today’s podcast on Time Tapping so meet me over at the podcast to dig deeper into this subject. If you haven’t listened to one of my podcasts yet … isn’t today a good time? ;)
Until next week honor yourself by honoring your precious time!
