Time for a Reboot
Just as each new year reboots on the calendar, we get a reboot as well in our choices for our lives.
What is laying in front of you in this bright shiny new year of 2016? I don’t know about you, but I am ready for a reboot on a variety of levels.
As I mentioned last week, my theme for the year is ACTION. I know that there are a few elements within myself I am excited to move forward with some roadblocks and false beliefs that I am ready to press the reset button with. That’s where this whole idea of a reboot comes into play.
Think about your computer when you reboot it. Simply put, you do it because it gets stuck, slows down, or is simply out of sync.
For those of you who also have an Apple computer, you know that when your computer is pushed to it’s limits, your cursor will transform into the ‘spinning wheel of aggravation’ or ‘spinning wheel of death’ when there is more being requested of the computer than it can handle.
Most of the time there can be a re-alignment when you turn the computer off and then turn it back on again. This slow and deliberate reboot technique requires a little more thought than quickly hitting the reset button. Either way, it shifts the inner workings of the computer and allows it to work more efficiently once again.
Now there are times when there is a serious issue within the computer that this quick alignment can’t fix. It takes more elements within the computer to be repaired than a simple on and off.
As you look forward this whole new year ahead, where has your spinning wheel of aggravation’ been happening too often? I think you and I can both agree that it’s time for a reboot…
How to Give Yourself a Reboot
1) Take a slow, controlled breath
2) Think to yourself: what is the one thing I am determined to make happen in the year ahead? In other words, what do you want to pursue that would make your journey in 2016 put a smile on your face from ear to ear each and every day? As Elizabeth Gilbert shares in today’s quote, the pursuit is the beginning of the journey.
3) Write your answer down on a sheet a paper and put somewhere that you look at often (your desk, a wall you walk by, etc.)
4) If you choose, please share it in the comments below so we can cheer each other on! It will feel so great to make that declaration to the world, and your pursuit will have officially begun ;)
Wishing you the necessary reboot to make your business blossom!
