The Courage to Compliment

It’s very inexpensive to give a compliment.

Courage to Compliment Ellen Rogin

What is your reaction when you give and/or receive a compliment?

Do you brush it off, making excuses why it may not be true? Or soak it up like a warm ray of sunshine.  Do you feel that same ray of sunshine when you give a lift to another human spirit?  : )

This was the topic for conversation in this week’s Courage to be the Difference podcast episode where I had the great opportunity to interview New York Times Best Selling Author Ellen Rogin

On this episode we uncover the possibilities for abundance in each of us by promoting the act of just saying something nice and complimentary to another human being. We also discuss how to properly receive a compliment and how it can have positive ripple effects into all areas of your life.

Ellen has been a colleague for a number of years and I recently read a compelling blog post she wrote about giving compliments to people.  It touched me in rethinking how the act can free us up from negative judgments about people by looking for the positive – enough so to say so out loud.

I hope that you take the time out today to listen to this podcast and reflect further on the opportunity that each of us possesses to easily make a difference in another person's life.  Are you up for the compliment challenge we discuss in this podcast?  Let us know you are in or share a story of how this way of thinking has made a difference in your life below in the comments section.
