A Street Named Overwhelm
Overwhelm comes in all shapes and sizes. Sooner or later it affects each of us. This chaos occurs when the 24 hours in each day somehow gets out of balance between work, play, and rest.
It’s a term we seem to use a lot these days and deserves a deeper look to fully understand what it can mean. As with any emotion, if we look at it in the right perspective it can assist us towards finding our individual road to victory.
Here are the 7 most common triggers I hear relating to a case of overwhelm
1. Is this how I should be spending my precious time here on this planet?
2. Do I really have everything I need in front of me?
3. Where and how can the necessary money be generated?
4. What is the exact amount of money I even really need?
5. Who will support me on all levels?
6. Why do I have the brakes on to further cause me resistance?
7. Why can’t I seem to get to what I desire most?
Overwhelm in the short term can allow you to rethink and adjust your sails. In the long term it can fester and grow out of control immobilizing you in many ways.
While you are driving your business down the road and are constantly finding yourself on that street called overwhelm, understand that you are the in the driver’s seat. This choice as always is yours to change course at any time.
It doesn’t necessarily mean you need slam on the brakes or accelerate too quickly. It just means consistently adjusting and making steady progress. A bunch of small wins create the big wins in life.
Here are the 7 solutions to assist you in moving you past overwhelm
1. Remove the blame of yourself and others for current circumstances – only look towards resolution on all levels.
2. Don’t allow yourself to continue to constantly start and stop projects never seeing completion to the big and little elements of your life. Follow through!
3. Get clear on what it is you really want and need in all areas of your life so you can assure movement in that direction.
4. Remove all gray areas around money (our Master Mind principle for this month is Self Control with Money).
5. Remember that traction starts with deliberate and forward thinking action.
6. Be willing to let things go. Trust that others can in fact assist you and let go of holding too tightly to the steering wheel.
7. Look at the little details that are perhaps getting left undone and learn how to delegate tasks to others.
