Shifting Beliefs

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan but also believe.

- Anatole France

Belief. It’s the single word that is coming up for me this morning. The word that is the difference between going for the long mile versus the short one. The difference between accomplishing the gifts that overcoming the hard challenges brings.

Back in the day when my husband Ed coached our son’s soccer team, he used to always tell the boys to never, never give up. Because no matter the strength or size of your perceived opponent, whether physical or mindset, the key ingredient is belief that you will play the game fully and to the best of your ability.

Last week I shared my grasshopper chasing adventures. Well, they have continued to challenge me by the hundreds. I have cried a few times and freaked out a few times more. However, I am determined to conquer their insistence in destroying my garden. Not an easy task to do organically but every day we seem to find new ways to stop the onslaught without bringing in pesticides.

Slowly but surely with the right tools and preventative measures, and oh yes, belief that we will conquer them, we are winning small battles every day. I have belief that we will win the grasshopper war.

With that, what is the challenge in front of you right now? What can you do to create a belief so strong that you can, and will, make necessary changes to give your problem the necessary solutions? Try removing the worry and fret from the scenario as you use that energy to make the shifts and plans to change the outcome.

Wishing you a week full of solutions!
