Rise Up

Master I have fallen into the abyss,” he says.  “The waters are deep and dark.”

“Remember one thing,” replies his master.  “You do not drown simply by plunging into the water, you only drown if you stay beneath the surface.
— Paulo Coelho

These words rang out to me while doing some early morning momentum reading this past week from one of my ongoing inspirational go to books by Paulo Coelho, Warrior of the Light.

The words rang out because they so depict how we can feel as if we are drowning in a failure that somehow has appeared or seems about to appear in our life. It’s one of the reasons we usually avoid making change because we fear so much that element of failure.

This is especially true when it comes the topic I want to talk to you about today… money. I heard from a number of people from last weeks letter that their missing ingredient was money.

When money is in flow it gives us many things including food on our table and a roof over our heads – which is why it is so important to us. Yet it can become evasive if we don’t understand how to manage the flow of it.

Money is usually one of the key indicators to tell us whether we are headed in the right direction or not when it comes to the success we are seeking in our lives.

The act of worrying about money never solves the issues it may have created in our lives – usually it only makes it worse and keeps us from getting to the surface to find our ultimate daily joy.

What if every time you started to think you were drowning in money troubles you shouted the words “RISE UP!” and in doing so envisioned yourself coming to the surface of your perceived current money troubles?

It’s not the money itself – it’s the habits we have around them and what we want to do with it that matters. When the weight of money troubles keeps weighing us down it’s easy to stay weighed down.

It’s much easier to face our fears when we know what they are. When we can give the needed attention to the exact elements within our money troubles that are in fact creating the lack we can begin to make the needed changes.

A great book I just finished reading is You are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero.  This is a book goes into the aspect of money in a pretty realistic and intuitive way. Jen shares her insights in going beyond how she was living her life constantly stopped by money well into her forties.

I did an honest and quick book review on my podcast. Take a listen to the latest episode or dive in and get the book

It’s time to rise up on your money woes. Let’s go do this!
