Respect and Good Vibes

Find joy in the sky, in the trees, and in the flowers. There are flowers everywhere for those who wish to see them. – Henri Matisse

I am happy to say that the sun is shining brightly this morning as I pull together my thoughts for this day and the week ahead. A bit of sunshine along with flowers always helps in adjusting the mind for what life will hold in store for each of us.

The theme that I want to share with you today is around the idea of being a lover of life and the respect that comes within you when you do. An inspiration was today’s picture of my dear friend Nancy’s grandson that she had sent to me.

No matter the picture, this little cutie pie takes along his young journey in life, he just seems to be happy and in the game. Even when sitting on the lap of a big Easter Bunny. ;)

As promised, I got the first episode of our time in Puerto Rico completed which took a little longer than expected. This video talks about having a passion and love for the earth and further explains a basic understanding of Permaculture in both farming and in our own gardens.

While it may not seem relevant to you because you don’t farm or garden, the connections we all can have to the earth, especially as we watch her wake up from the winter slumber in our part of the world can help us all to work in unison.

On Saturday Ed and I attended the Hands Off Protest in Longmont. Our first time doing something like this and we felt so in community with others who were feeling the angst of watching all the negative changes happening in our country.

It is important to be heard and curb the anxiety that can happen when you can’t connect with your own true feelings. While we may not have made an immediate difference, the experience helped me to not feel so alone in my angst. Thinking of the words of Abraham Lincoln who said in the Gettysburg Address, a time when our country was also severely divided,

“…that the government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

I invite you to pay attention to the amount of anxiety you might be holding for one reason or another and find ways to release the stress. Whether it’s through the company you keep or letting your voice be heard.

The peace I found when we visited the Plentitud PR farm in Puerto Rico was based on respect. The respect the organization had for the earth, each other and the community all around them, most especially the children and the seniors.

We had the opportunity during our visit to have a beautiful vegan lunch with their team, something they do together every day. And as they ate the beautiful food mostly produced by the farm, you could just feel the good vibes and respect. I came away from the experience renewed in so many ways.

One step at a time, one day at a time, walk with good vibes and respect.
