Paint Your Canvas
Everything you can imagine is real. – Pablo Picasso
Welcome to the month of May!
Waking up this morning to the sound of beautiful rain outside my window was so awesome and the world seems greener already. May is like a new canvas being created. From the budding of flowers of spring, to the beautiful possibilities of what lies ahead in the summer months to come.
And speaking of a new canvas, with my son Travis home for a visit, Friday night we got into one of his favorite past times when he is home – painting and repainting canvases as a group activity.
We started with a canvas that had been previously painted and went from there, starting with 3 primary colors. We continued adding in a few new colors as we had fun watching the painting change with everyone’s creative input to the ever-changing canvas.
We didn’t know from one minute to next what the outcome was going to be. When would done be done? Just when one of us finished their brush strokes and said “OKAY, it’s complete”, another one of us would say – no wait there is more I see.
Travis indeed kept pushing us further and further. It was uncomfortable and exciting all at the same time. And it kept us engaged and laughing. A really fun project and evening.
A real reminder that changes can be uncomfortable especially when you are bringing new ideas and allowing your imagination to fully come to life.
You can see the final strokes video over on my Instagram page.
I hope that your canvas this week keeps you smiling and laughing as well.
