Living a Legacy

As our first work week of the year played out with more unthinkable happenings in our world, it got me to thinking about the importance of legacy. Legacy as we each look at the role we play as leaders and how it effects the world around us.
Your own leadership role might be in your business, community or to those in your family who look to you for guidance and light.
Let’s face it in this ever-changing world we are living in, some days can be harder than others. Our thoughts and actions, along with those we spend the most time with can help us through.
In 2020 I became certified Coach in the Fix This Next Coaching Program. In the initial assessment I use with my clients one of the areas that we explore delves into where you sit with creating your legacy. I thought I would share those questions with you here today:
1. COMMUNITY CONTINUANCE: Do your clients fervently defend, support, and help the business?
2. INTENTIONAL LEADERSHIP TURN: Is there a plan for leadership to transition and stay fresh?
3. HEART-BASED PROMOTERS: Is the organization promoted by individuals inside and outside the organization, without the need of direction?
4. QUARTERLY DYNAMICS: Does your business have a clear vision for its future and dynamically adjust quarterly to make that vision become true?
5. ONGOING ADAPTATION: Is the business designed to constantly adapt and improve, including finding ways to better and beat itself?
The answer is either yes or no. Kinda or sorta just doesn’t fit here.
Any answer that you say no to needs further exploration in how to change it to a yes. I discuss this topic and these questions further in today’s podcast.
We will undoubtedly continue to have challenges as we cruise into this year called 2021. Being clear on where you stand with the legacy you want to create will help you on your journey without a doubt.
