Let it Grow

Well here we are just a day or so away from the start of a brand-new decade! I hope that you enjoyed the Christmas / Hanukkah holiday!

We just got home last night from a 2400-mile road trip to California, spending the holiday with our grown children and their partners in San Diego.

It was a wonderful trip. While the weather was really cold and mostly rainy, we had a really soul filled time being together as a family and celebrating the gift of our love for each other. I completely shut off business (my inbox now runneth over) in order to focus on the nucleus of my family and my own well-being.

As a family we spent many hours the day after Christmas examining and sharing with each other how the year 2019 turned out. What each of us found worked out well and what didn’t work out so well in this year gone by. It is really a rewarding and bonding experience to take the time to do this together as a family. Then we began diving into what each of us wanted to see for the year ahead.

I say began because I believe it’s important to spend time collectively and then with yourself in introspection to find what the year ahead will bring for you.

A few weeks back here in the Victory Letter I shared the idea of doing good. Before embarking on the new year if you can be sure to acknowledge the year gone by and ask yourself the all-important question:

What did I do good in 2019 in work, home, for myself, and for the world at large?

And then, when you finish writing down and acknowledging yourself for what did and didn’t happen you will be fully ready to think about the good you now have the opportunity to achieve in the year ahead.

My word for 2020 to inspire and motivate me is … Grow.

I choose this word to help myself grow as I help those around me to grow as well. There are several new ventures I am embarking in this year that are all around this idea of growth. I will be sharing more with you on these juicy new things in the months ahead.

With that word, is my affirmation for the year ahead:

I grow through what I go through in order to fully feel the abundance and value of all that comes my way each day.

G – Gain momentum

R – Recharge your Batteries

O – Orchestrate and Motivate

W – Welcome Change

What is the word and complimenting affirmation and ideas that will propel you forward in the year ahead? Take a listen to today’s podcast in the link above as I dive move into this topic.

Wishing you a happy new year and decade ahead as you find your groove, inner peace and joy.
