Growing Ideas
We are well into 6 days of 2020 and a new decade. How is it going so far for you? Are you your goals still swirling around in your head wondering what to do next? Or are you ready to hit the grounding running this first full work week of the year?
I heard a phrase not so long ago talking about how the time to look at the map is before you begin the journey.
After traveling 2400 miles over the holidays as I shared in last week’s letter, Ed and I found that we would have had a real advantage a number of times if we had a paper map. Especially when cell service dropped, and the GPS on our phones was not telling us things we needed to know to bring more clarity to our journey.
I really do believe it is that way with goals as well. You need a written plan filled with purpose and action steps to assist in getting you headed in the right direction. Otherwise, you have all these ideas swirling around in your head that can go no where fast.
Think of your goals as ideas that need the answer to the question… “what happens next?” Giving you ways and means to get your new year and decade off to a strong start.
As entrepreneurs we never lack new ideas. In fact, it is usually the over-abundance of ideas that get us stuck as we start and stop all too often. When we can stop and really map out the intricacies of our ideas great stuff starts to happen.
