Just Be Happy

Happy New Year!
2023 has arrived and here we are arriving with the second day of the year. Last night Ed and I facetimed with our grown kids in California as we all discussed our goals, hope and dreams for this fresh new year ahead of us.
We also each shared our word for the year and what it meant to us. My word for 2023 is Happy. Yes, simple as can be I just want to be happy. The mantra I have going with that is:
I create magic when I am happy.
How about you? What is your word for the year? That single thing you want to insure that no matter what happens you want to circle back and focus on that feeling, thought or thing more times than not over the course of the year. Adding in a little mantra to the word gives it more context and positive intentions.
Many times, we can abandon our dreams because of something that has become known as imposter syndrome. You know that feeling of, “who am I to want or deserve this” or “can I really pull something like this off?” Sadly, more often then not, this feeling of fear can shut people down.
Because of that, I thought this would be a really good time to share my podcast interview with you that I had recently with Jena Bedson from Jena Bedson Ceramics based in a small village outside of Melbourne, Australia. It is a wonderful conversation talking about many things as we looked into why so often we don’t go after our hopes, dreams and goals because of fearing we don’t have what it takes to make our deepest dreams come true.
During the pandemic, Jena took her beautiful and masterful artwork and stepped past her lovely and comfortable small studio space. She embraced what technology could do for her business, and now has students benefitting from her work all over the globe.
A great reminder that we each have the capacity within us to make someone else’s life better. We just need to plan, get the support we need so, and step past our fears so that we can step out of our comfort zone to make our dreams happen. Jena did just that I know you will enjoy her story.
