Juggling Act
Life does seem like a juggling act at times.
What is something in your life that you have been wanting to do, or know you should be doing but keep telling yourself you don’t have the time? Does time become more of the excuse or there is true adversity that you face?
Recently my daughter, Bailey, asked my husband and I to try focusing our food choices around a plant-based diet to enjoy greater health benefits. At first the thought seemed impossible. No meat, no dairy? What?! What would we eat? Does that mean cheese too? Wouldn’t we be hungry all the time?
Bailey, who is an amazing chef, promised us that she would be there to assist us with our food choices like she does with her clients. Because we’re her parents we get a discount. ;)
The interesting part, the element that really had stopped me initially, was thinking about all that was going on in my life. How could I manage taking on that one more task (another ball up in the air) of learning how to eat so differently?
Just a few weeks into it now I am finding is that it has made eating more interesting – not an automatic reactive process but one that I am now putting more thought and effort into. We have not starved and actually are finding so many more new foods that are really much better for our bodies and taste delicious too.
The time issue I was worried about… when it’s something you really care about you have the time to make it happen. Also, having someone to help you through the process keeps you from having to do it on your own.
How would your life change if you threw another ball up into the air that would improve your life as you made it part of your own daily juggle? Who could help you catch it?
When we stretch and step outside the normal day to day of our lives there is so many treasures that can be found. If not now, when?
