Hurry Worry
You might be feeling a little sleep deprived due to that hour we gave up on Sunday morning. The time change may also put you in a confusion once or twice this week, as you look at the wrong clock that didn't get switched an hour forward...
Let's face it, we have probably all had those moments when the only thing on your mind was the time! I have come to call this state of mind "Hurry Worry."
You can't seem to move any faster and everyone around you seems like they can't possibly get any slower!
There is a cure to hurry worry: give yourself a little extra time! Think of those times when everyone around you is moving at just the right pace, in flow with what you had envisioned your day might look like.
You are relaxed as you meet deadlines, because you had planned extra time for the unplanned things that inevitably come up.
Those unplanned things, like the people who don't move at the same pace as you, seem to disappear. The most amazing part about planning extra time like this is that nothing seems strange about stopping in the middle of your day and actually eating lunch!
We all tend to move at a different pace. One of our greatest time enemies is how we underestimate how long something is actually going to take us to get done.
A few weeks back, I asked that you take action to build your self-confidence. But what happens when you take too much action? The result is overwhelm, and it can become a constant.
Sometimes we get going so much in the day-to-day that we don't stop long enough to evaluate the speed we are going.
For those of us who wear glasses, we wear our glasses for many hours each day. It's not until you take them off that you realize the gunk that has piled up on them throughout the day!
Dr. Wayne Dyer described this beautifully. He said "When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way." I love the thought of that!
In the week ahead, I ask you to plan a few extra moments in your day to enjoy the dance.
