Game of Luck

Life can be an amazing adventure, if we manage to get out of our own way and put ourselves fully in the game.

With today being St. Paddy’s Day it seems so appropriate to be talking about luck. Seneca’s words on this topic for todays quote have always rung true for me.

It seems that when we are completely in the game, “luck” happens way more often. Winning won’t just happen because you think about it. If you want to win the lottery you first have to buy a ticket. Action creates growth, opportunity, and luck.

When you look this morning's picture a little deeper, it really represents all of the possibilities around us. I snapped the pic last week when I was in San Francisco visiting my daughter, Bailey. We took a trip north of the city to go hiking among the amazing redwoods in the Muir Woods. 

It was a special treat for me to be taking this trek with Bailey to somewhere I had never been before. It was quite beautiful and the 600 year old trees really got me thinking more about the opportunity of time.   

What was incredible was how a number of the trees had fallen, and new life began in other forms right on that tree! As we trekked higher and higher, I kept noticing how everything is perfectly in it’s place, all finding purpose.

There are those days in day-to-day life when we can seem to continuously be trying to put a round peg in a square hole. I believe that is when we need to stop and fully evaluate how we might be getting in the way of allowing our “luck” to happen.

For myself as well as many of my clients, I find that the more difficult the perceived struggle is, the more we are getting in our own way. This directly gets in the way of new business growth.

Life happens, and crappy things happen along the way that we wish didn’t. However, we can find the opportunities that are usually there for the taking in those unexpected moments of struggle.

In this amazing picture above, among the shamrocks is a new evolution of trees ready for their abundant growth.
