See clearly enough to create your best future.

As we head into Thanksgiving week here in the U.S. I wanted to throw a little thanks-filled food for thought your way…

What if, a little bit of the thanks you give at this time of year is pointed towards the things in your life that you actually have control of, for the most part anyway?

Here is what I mean, while we know for sure there are a vast number of things that we cannot control, from the weather to unexpected major life happenings, to little daily life annoyances.

You know things like hearing those two dreaded words when calling to get some business or health matters taken care of over the phone … “Hold Please.”

I love how they say please when there is nothing pleasing about it – especially when it comes to the forever hold! Or, as I experienced last week the hold that comes after explaining a billing problem where the agent said, “Hold Please”, and then threw me back into the initial hold cue. Then I had to explain my problem over again not 2 times but 4 times! The fourth time the “manager” I requested disappeared mid-sentence and never resolved my issue.

It’s that terrible frustrating feeling of not having control especially when it seems to be a simple logical matter to resolve. And to be sure I was being very nice trying to explain the situation as calmly as possible.

Something I know for sure is that for those of us of the entrepreneurial persuasion we are lucky enough to have control about the implementation of our ideas, thoughts and dreams.

Yeah, for sure, our ideas don’t always turn out like we imagine, but the times they do that is when we really are in control. That as they say, is when the magic happens!

So, whether you are on hold on the phone, or holding your breath that an idea will come fully to life, stop and take that deeper breath as you feel the gratitude for what is right in your world at this moment. All those things you actually do have control over.

I am grateful for you and getting to spend a few minutes every Monday with you. Keep your eyes on the prize, whatever that looks like for you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day or even week if that is how you are rolling and controlling! And put the world on hold for a bit.

You can thank me later. 🤓
