Get Ready

When it’s your turn to be picked you have to be in pointing distance. - Steve Martin

As we wander through the final days of 2020, wrapping up this last week of the holiday season, the time has come to fully start imagining the year ahead. You may be asking yourself, with uncertainty about so many things ahead of us, is it even possible to plan the year ahead?

I believe the answer is yes. In fact, if we look specifically towards the ways in which we can empower especially our inner life in the months ahead, so much is imaginable.

For sure we need continue to do what we can to keep our health as priority. With that, life will not be fully open to doing everything we want for many months ahead. However, the key is to keep our eyes on what we can do.

One of the reasons I like to have a word and mantra for the year is that it keeps me focused. Focused for when February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December 2021 each arrives I can stay focused on what matters most to me.

My word for 2021 is Create. I want to spend my days creating all that I can. In fact, I asked myself the question just this morning. What is left in me to create? And as I journaled, I discovered there is a whole lot waiting to come out of me.

My mantra goes… Create as if no one is watching. Shine and define from within because it’s all doable.

Every morning for 365 days starting January 1, I will program my phone to remind to say these words out loud to myself. To continually and constantly come back to focus when the world gets crazy, all the busyness of life, along with other factors that get in my way.

What is the word that will help you to remember the element of great importance to your life in the year ahead?

This is just one of the topics we will be discussing in greater detail at the Growth Masterclass on Thursday. As we collectively work through a number of elements to help you in your goal setting for 2021. I promise you that with the introspection from myself along with the team of coaches who are joining me, you will be able to step into the year ahead with some new perspective in all areas of your life.

On today’s podcast is with one of Thursdays speakers, Alison Rothman founder of Embody Your Life. We share a recent conversation on the important topic of acceptance. Something we are all needing to do as we end 2020. One of my favorite quotes from this podcast is Alison saying, “Acceptance is an ease with the flow of life.”

With a year like we have never lived before now about to be in our rear view mirror, it’s time to get ready for the possibilities to come our way ahead. As the comedian Steve Martin shared in today’s quote from a recent Masterclass I watched – we indeed need to be pointed in the right direction if we are going to be ready for the opportunities that will be coming our way in the year ahead.

Wishing you a year that brings lots of joy and happiness your way. Let’s get ready and make it happen.
