Full Circle
There is nothing as inspiring and uplifting than to be with true long term friends who totally - without an inch of a doubt - get you. Your joy is their joy and your pain... they feel deeply as well.
Last week I had the extreme pleasure of hanging out with my soul sisters. We watched each other go from little girls, to gangling teen-agers, to wives, moms and Entrepreneurs. In other words, we have watched each other come full circle in our lives.
Today we live in different parts of the country, but that doesn’t matter. We still are deeply connected and we get together whenever we can find the time. Sometimes years go by without seeing each other... Then all of a sudden the timing works out beautifully for us all to reconnect.
There is always lots of laughter, tears, and discussions late into the night of who we are today, who we were back “in the day”, and where we are going into our tomorrows. I had a realization during one of our deep conversations one night... There is something powerful in our connection. Then it dawned on me that our friendship together is so much like the power of a Master Mind Circle.
It’s the power of coming together, being there for each other, empowering each other to be all that you can be, and feeling blessed through each measure in the process. It just fills the soul in a way that can’t be done alone!
As we wrap up our discussions on the topic of this month, it also hit me how much leadership plays into friendship. The key to success in leadership is finding the fine balance where you need to be a leader and a follower in equal dosages to get the proper flow in a relationship. This means caring just as much about that other person as you do about yourself - maybe even more!
Needless the say, the trip was everything I could ask for. I had some time to reflect on the flight home, and I came up with some great questions to ask you:
1) Who are the people that are in your life that fill up your soul?
2) Who are the ones that will make a difference in your life?
3) Who are the ones that when you look into their eyes you see a part of yourself in them?
Napoleon Hill in the Law of Success described the Master Mind as, “a mind that is developed through the harmonious cooperation of two or more people who ally themselves for the purpose of accomplishing any given task. “
Who are you assisting moving forward into the months of summer - and who is assisting you?
Thanks to Joe G who shared the rest of the words and origin for the quote “All who wander are not lost” that I shared a couple of letters ago from J.R.R. Tolkien.
And it goes...
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
The whole idea of a coming full circle in this life really has been coming up a lot with the amazing part of it being that we come back around to finding our own true self right there - wherever we happen to wander.
Wishing you the fruits of your labors as summer unfolds before us. Please share your thoughts on today’s letter in the comment section below, I would love to hear from you!
