Essential Ingredient

Our resistance is our gateway to transformation. - Deborah Price

Think about one key ingredient that is mandatory in your life. Just one.

Over the weekend I fully immersed myself all weekend for this first time this season with one of my passions – gardening. As I set to the task of all that needed to be done creatively and systematically, I was thinking a lot - one of the things I love about gardening.

A thought that came to mind was how often I hear people say, “I can’t garden” or “I kill every plant I touch.” That in turn got me thinking about this key ingredient piece because while there are some fundamentals for optimum plant health the missing ingredient for those who fail in the process is usually simply water. Or the lack thereof.

Yes, as fundamental as it may seem water is usually the key essential ingredient that gets forgotten. While plants can wilt to let us know they need water – if it happens too often – they simply give up and die. Sad but so true. There is a discipline of understanding the essential ingredient when nurturing anything in our lives.

Resistance to changing our mindset can play a strong role in stopping us from succeeding in everything from gardening to business.

In business, the essential ingredient that keeps a business alive is money. Money is the water for a business that is the make or break for the long term health and business existence. How are you with money? How does it help or hurt the growth of your business and/or in your overall life?
