Doing Some Dreaming

All of our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. - Walt Disney

Happy Monday!

This morning I come to you with this question, which of your dreams from the past are you living today?

Please just take a moment to not only think about that this dream of yours, but to indeed savor the thought of how you brought it to reality.

Perhaps your dream, be it persons, places or things you brought into your life, was easy to attain. Or perhaps it was damn hard. It may have taken years of constant work to bring to life.

Either way, the important element is how much gratitude you continue to give to that dream and to yourself in order to give you the courage to pursue new dreams along your way.

Life has a habit of shifting the road ahead of us because of the uncertainty our human condition. And all we can do is continue to do is our best, dream for our best life while taking action to insure we bring new dreams to life.

This Saturday, October 21st marks 41 years since I left my home in California to start a new life here in Colorado. Every year I celebrate this day because it changed the trajectory of my life in so many ways. Including, meeting my husband of now 37 years and having two children together that mean the world to me. And for the record, that move was oh so scary and damn hard.

There is a poem I have shared from time to time here on the Victory Letter that I found prominently among my grandmother’s belongings when she passed away all those years ago. It has comforted and carried me through challenging times, and I hope that it does the same for you today. It’s short and sweet to be sure.

New Dreams for Old

With changing rhythms softly slow

The clouds of dusk float by

And, as I watch them fainter grow,

The old dreams die.

For night, behind the clouds doth wait

With high hopes in a star,

And I must go – a gypsy’s fate –

Where new dreams are.

With that I wish you the courage and belief to create new dreams no matter your age, place in life, or what else is going on in the world.

Perhaps a little get away would do you good to clear your head. I find it always does me good and today I am sharing my latest You Tube Video about a fun little get away Ed and I had here in Colorado a few weeks back.

Before I sign off today, I cannot not share how my heart breaks for the horrible atrocities and wars happening in this world (both the Mideast and Ukraine). But with that I will also share some reflection that the sole culprit for what is going on is the incessant need for power and domination completely fueled by hatred.

Hatred and blame is an element of humanity that is continuing to raise its ugly head right here in this country if we continue to allow it to grow within our leadership. And yes, each of us can do something about it. It’s something for sure I am dreaming about for all of us.

Next week the Victory Letter is getting a bit of a new look and a new resource to count on each week. My goal and dream for this improvement is to empower you even more. Until then, have a great week ahead and lets do some dreaming!

P.S. Did you catch the solar eclipse this past Saturday? While I didn’t have the right equipment to get a good shot of through my eclipse glasses today’s photo was cool of the shadows the moon made through the trees on our garage. So Cool!
