Statements of Courage

Onward Ever, Backward Never.
— Maurice Bishop

Why do you do what you do for your daily bread every day?  How have you ended up where you are today with the current elements that creates the making a “living” part of your life?

As you read these words of today’s Victory Letter, I am headed to the east coast to spend this entire week focusing on the writer side of my life at a writer’s retreat.

Writing is a part of what I do each day that fuels my flame.  Along with that, I have worn the hat of Business Coach for the past 17 years allowing me to fully make a living and a fulfilled life.  In turn this work gives me many things to write about and the writing supports the coaching as well.

Thinking about these pieces of my life got me to thinking about the elements of courage that for me in 2016 will in fact equate to my next book on the topic itself.

Why this topic? Because courage is the number one element I believe that gets us to do our best and greatest work while we hang out here on the planet. It’s also one of the biggest roadblocks I see with my clients.

Courage gets us off the couch and out into the world.  Courage keeps us strong to our convictions when the sky turns gray and we have to get up and do what we do all over again in a completely different way.

Shouldn’t we then have a Courage Statement powered by our beliefs is that gets us focused each day?

This has inspired me to create this week’s Spot of Courage podcast on the Courage to Coach.  My courage statement about what I do.   What I would invite you to do is take a listen to this recording (10 min) and then write up your own courage statement around why it is that you do what you do each day.

Would love to hear how this resonates with you and even have you share your courage statement in the comments below!

Here’s to creating a week ahead that is memorable and full of your own special delights.
