Paying Attention

A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.
— Franklin D. Roosevelt

As I sit to write this week’s letter my head is spinning. Just 20 days into this new year and already so much has happened that I didn’t expect. This reminds me once again that life unfolds as it needs to and the only option we have is to be ready to go along for the ride.

That is where our goals for the year really become our compass. They give us an anchor to come back to when the seas of life become choppy. I think we all can agree that when we’re in the middle of the ocean and a storm comes, choppy waters simply cannot be avoided.

Last week I unexpectedly found myself in Southern California to give assistance in a precarious situation. Then the tides guided me away from that situation and I found myself riding a Ferris Wheel (literally) above the ocean with my beautiful daughter, Bailey. Talking with her on the phone just 5 days before, I had shared how much I was missing her. Then bam! There I was sitting next to her, totally unexpected and unplanned. Or was it?

It was an incredible, surreal, and wonderful way to remind myself that if we linger in what makes us sad for too long, we miss out on the many beautiful opportunities that life has waiting for us. I even had the chance to extend my trip and we spent 3 more awesome days together!

How is this new year cruising along for you? Are you finding the waters choppy or smooth? How are you doing with implementing the goals you have created? Are you perhaps still just thinking about going after them

During this extra unexpected time in California, I was scheduled to give the first of 12 monthly online Masterminds for 2019. As the powers that be would have it, we experienced technical difficulties and not being in my own office I had to go with the flow. While several members who signed up were unable to join, I went ahead and kept recording the session which was all about goal setting, avoiding that new year fade, and finding your definite chief aim for the year ahead.

Instead of getting caught up in the stress of yet another unplanned turn of events, I once again had to take a deep breath and pay attention to my goal of providing value for those who need help with their goals.

The recording turned out great and after the session I was able to figure out what happened so that all future online Masterminds will be able to run smoothly. I would love to share with you the link to that video recording along with a PDF download straight from my Victory Circles Immersion Program.

If you are looking to sail towards your goals, give yourself some time to really sit with the questions I ask that will assist you greatly in riding any storms that may come along your way.

Get clear, get happy, and pay attention through the waves that are coming on the journey ahead!
