Money Trap

money wont create success the freedom to make it will

As we continue in our discussions about the five letter word m-o-n-e-y this week I would like for you to stop and feel what instantly comes up when you think of the word money.  In fact, stop for this moment, close your eyes and see what pops up for you.  Is it positive or negative?

For me, money represents freedom - as Nelson Mandela speaks of in todays quote.  Freedom to do those things in life that matter the most and allow us to fully make a difference here on this planet.

Money is a form of energy. It can stop you in your tracks if you allow it to (negative energy), or it can set you on a course of abundance of all shapes and sizes (positive energy). The choice sometimes can feel like it is not our own… when in fact regardless of our life circumstances we really are fully in charge if we choose to be.

For that matter, look at what Nelson Mandela did with his life. He overcame the huge obstacles that were placed in front of him - including being imprisoned for 27 years.  Did he stop to reflect only on the injustice done to him? Perhaps, but he chose not to live in those thoughts of negativity.

When Mr. Mandela got out of prison he went right back to focusing on his purpose of ending the injustice of racism and became President of South Africa – no small task to be sure! His passion in being clear about his vision brought him many accolades throughout the world including the Nobel Peace Prize and the US Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Most of us have experienced our ups and downs with money as we talked about in last weeks Victory letter on Money Cobwebs. With Tax Day 2015 come and gone it’s time to focus on creating the possibilities you want to see the self control with money bring into your life.

What are your possibilities that would bring you the greatest freedom for your work?

I do know that I have been a proud mama in the last few weeks as I have watched my grown children step outside of their comfort zone and step up to the plate of their calling in their lives. What an honor it is for me to support both of them in their journey.

My son Travis just a few weeks ago packed it up and moved back to San Francisco to pursue his passion in creating his special art form and embracing the abundant opportunity that the city provides. In addition, he has broken off from his design work with me and created his own modern web development company (check it out at www.creativepurity.com).

My daughter Bailey on the other hand, after leaving home at 18 to pursue her culinary dreams and schooling in San Francisco has now returned home five years later. She has spent the last 6 months traveling the islands of Hawaii and surfing the Baja in Mexico. In doing so she has given herself the mental clarity she needed. With that clarity she realized that the city life was not where she wanted to be right now. She is back in Colorado to fully explore her gifts personally and professionally.

Money is a factor for nearly every professional decision we make. But does it have to be?

With that comes my biggest burning question for you this week: What would you do differently if money were not an issue?

In other words, what is your current money trap that is holding you back from being all that you know you can be?

Here is to honoring and respecting those elements in your life that give you the freedom and energy to do what it is that you do best.

Would love for you to share your thoughts about the energy of money from your perspective in the comments section below.

As you head out into your week, remember to pay homage on Wednesday to another amazing resource that makes our existence possible – Mother Earth. Happy Earth Day to you and your abundance!
