Humble Beginnings

This past Friday I celebrated my 58th year on the planet.  Fifty-eight years!  How in the world did that happen?  Seems like just yesterday when I could hardly wait to turn eighteen and hit the road of my adult life... And now 40 years have come and gone.

As today’s quote implies it indeed has been a series of construction projects along the way.  Some that have brought fabulous results and lots of smiles to my life, and some… well let’s just say needed a complete remodel in just a short period of time.

I have been watching from afar as my niece, Meaghan has been experiencing the wonders of being a mother for the first time and relishes in the brand new life of her sweet new baby girl, Emma Lynn.

In a Facebook post she mentioned how she watched as her daughter slept without a care in the world with her fresh little brain.  Other than her basic needs of food and comfort, having no idea or caring what was going on outside of her tiny mind.

Each of us started this journey from very humble beginnings or really with any game plan at all.  Life just happened as it did, as we formed our thinking mind. Through many different elements that transpired our journey brought us to where we are right now today.

One of the elements for me has been this place I have been blessed to call home for these past 30 plus years.  I thought I would share a picture of the beauty of Boulder in today’s pic below.

So as we start to wrap up the summer with schools starting up here this week- let the thinking begin, as summer begins to wane and the fall season lies before us.

What is on your plate?  What thinking do you need to do to insure the path ahead turns out for you as you wish?  What elements from your humble beginnings carry you forward through today. What do you want to change?

Keep in mind the construction philosophy of “measure twice, cut once” as you put your thinking hat on each day.

Happy Thinking!
