Fine Tuning

when you are down get up

The second Monday of the year has arrived! Are you ready for what it has in store for you? The holidays are really over and the dreaming, thinking, planning and hoping for 2014 is fully here. Just like the proverbial glass of water, now is the time ask ourselves, is January half full or half empty?

There can be a feeling of overwhelm, as time continues to quickly march on. That feeling can also sometimes wear us down if we don't give our motivation and drive some extra attention about now. This is especially true for those of us of the entrepreneurial persuasion or anyone who is stretching into new territories.

Perhaps one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves heading into this second full week of January is to defy gravity and when the going gets challenging to get ourselves back up mentally and fully in the game. Sure resting is always good - just be careful that you don't find yourself down for too long.

For each of us stuff happens that we don't plan, like the garage door coming down on my sweet little Fiat last Monday morning as I headed out into the world. Totally disrupting my plans, my budget and quite frankly total bumming me out.

This is where the fine-tuning comes in. You know for the most part in your heart, mind and spirit where you want to be in your life. The doing is in getting there or perhaps for you, if you are already "there", to fine tune to make the journey even better.

Last week, as we kicked off the Victory Circles Radio Hour and our 114th show, Jason Womack gave us some great simple tools for insuring we get even better results in 2014. He shared three questions he asks himself each day to make sure that each day is better than the one before:

  1. What went well today?
  2. Where did things not go well?
  3. What are things I want of more of going forward?

This week Natalie Ledwell will be on the show asking,  What Blows Your Hair Back?

On Saturday morning I ventured up to the mountains and attended a workshop that Transformational Coach, friend and colleague, Jani McCarty, was hosting on the topic of change. It made me stop and take a much-needed inventory and ask myself some important questions. I took with me some mental tools to insure I maintain the needed stamina for all that is before me in the weeks and months to come.

How about you? What are you doing to insure that you stay motivated and on the path you want to be on? As you move through the elements of your life that are coming to fruition, how will you maintain your drive and momentum? Who will assist you along your way and insure that you are getting your mental tune ups as needed?

Start today -  trusting, insuring and implementing ways for your mental capacity to be at it's finest in order for to take you where you want to go! Just imagine what could be possible even as soon as next Monday with your head fully in the game.

Amy Adams shared some inspiring words as she accepted her Golden Globe last night, thanking her agent and manager who had believed in her when she was just starting out.   She said, "Thank you for letting me feel joy and let go of the fear." A summation of what could make a perfect week and life for that matter. Feeling joy as you let go the fear. I'm in! How about you?

Here's to making your week all it can be!

And as always...Here is to Your Successes and Victories!
